Sideshow Brides

The Fibbins sisters hail from a little known town in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Brought up around horses, campfires and a rich tapestry of music from their parents record collection, they were singing together from a young age.
Listening to mostly country and 70’s Rock, they formed a grungy all girl band of 3 to play out their high school days; Layla on guitar and vocals and Rhianna on drums. Skipping a few years and picking up new instruments they became heavily influenced by the music and songwriting of Patty Griffin and Neko Case.

They began finessing their own songwriting together and crafted a blend of country, roots based music and packed their bags (literally two bags) and guitar and moved to Melbourne. They found themselves immersed in the country scene and quickly began singing around popular Melbourne music venues. Opening supports have included Leah Flanagan and U.S country siren Elizabeth Cook. They also featured as backing vocalists for bands such as Dallas Crane (Rod Laver Arena supporting Cold Chisel,Marngrook Footy Show, Melbourne Convention Centre supporting Lynyrd Skynyrd) Dan Brodie, Burn in Hell and career highlight Tim Rogers. From a quick self produced EP ‘The Sideshow Brides’ they were hitting local and international airwaves, becoming finalists in International songwriting comps and playing festivals and supports in and around Melbourne. Releasing a taster single & clip with their band in October 2016 ‘Red Light Eyes’ it was soon played on Triple J radio and hit number 1 on Amrap’s top ten tracks ordered by regional community broadcasters around Australia. In late July this year they released their new single ‘Dead & Reborn’ from their upcoming debut album which received triple J airplay and is currently doing the community radio rounds…
It’s been quite the ride for these sisters as they continue to grow and polish their musical boots, so keep an eye and ear out for their upcoming shows and record- they will be floating into a town near you soon!
