Slowjaxx & The Kozmik Brothers
Psychedelic music inspired by pop art, surrealism, funk and punk. Slowjaxx started as a solo project during a hiatus by his band The Stoned Revivals(1990-present) in sunny Singapore. Since 2005 Slowjaxx aka Esam Salleh has collaborated with countless musicians to flesh out his sonic experimentations. Finally settling down in Melbourne in 2010, Esam started from scratch doing solo acoustic sets till a chance meeting with his future drummer before he performed as a finalist in the VeryWest 2010 Competition. After numerous hiccups, he finally found a full line up in the form of The Kozmik Brothers. The gang is made up of-Slowjaxx (vocals/guitars), Adro (guitars), David (Bass/ Tenor Sax), Dzul (Drums), and Ery (Percussions). The band has since played numerous venues around Melbourne such as The Tote, Federation Square, The Corner Hotel, Brunswick Hotel, Penny Black, Revolver Upstairs, Bendigo Hotel, Fad Gallery, Veludo, Tago Mago, Scarlett Lounge, The Barley Corn Hotel, Idgaff- --just to name a few . They also rocked the St. Kilda Festival's Live n Local Stage, Street.Culture.West Festival held at Highpoint as well as Soundtracks Showcase @ the Esplanade in Singapore where Esam headlined the songwriter stage. A recent trip back to Singapore also saw him performing with his original band The Stoned Revivals- in a packed out venue supporting Yuna- a Malaysian artist who's signed to Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records.
