Tony Lukav has unique vocals, well suited to his repertoire of classic blues, jazz ballads and rock standards.

He draws on his life’s experiences and can texture by contrasting, for example, a Muddy Waters’ blues and a lilting Billie Holiday ballad.

Story lines are traversed and explored in his repertoire, which is drawn from performers such as Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits.

After extensive experience in band rhythm sections, playing double and electric bass, his piano style consists of a left-hand pushing bass lines and minimalist right-hand voicings with blues licks supporting the vocals.
