CR Bernadene Voss | Mayor City of Port Phillip
Welcome to the City of Port Phillip’s Live N Local program.
Now in its third year as a stand-alone winter event, Live N Local features an exciting array of acts across the City at venues ranging from Elwood Lounge to the South Melbourne Market. This year’s highlights include the Festival Opening Party at Middle Park Bowling Club, Kutcha Edwards and Band at the Memo Music Hall, and UnderSCORE, a 21-piece orchestral performance of Australian video game music scores accompanied by gameplay projections live at the Alex Theatre.
This festival is an important part of our Council’s long-standing commitment to supporting live music in our City. It’s live, it’s local and it’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy hidden gems in your neighbourhood as well as iconic much-loved venues.

Welcome to my country, the land of the great bay of the Boon Wurrung people, our beautiful home.
On behalf of the Boon Wurrung, a clan of the greater Kulin nations, I welcome you to our land. Euro Yuroke – more commonly known as St Kilda – and its surrounds are special places, which continue to carry forward the spirit of our tradition. This land will always be protected by the creator, Bundjil, who travels as an eagle, and by Waang, who protects the waterways and travels as a crow.
As the spirit of my ancestors lives, let the wisdom and the spirit of generosity which Bundjil taught us influence the opportunities that may arise at this meeting.
